See below for background of his award nomination.

Officer Jayson Lisenby is currently assigned to the Mulberry Middle School as a School Resource Officer. During the past year he has displayed exceptional report with the children at the school along with pursuing a Public Safety exployer program which is set to begin in the first part of 2008. Along with his performance in his regular duties, he continues to answer the call of duty and frequently helps out in patrol when needed.

In October of 2007, Officer Lisenby responded to a local residence to provide assistance to a subject who attempted suicide. Upon his arrival he learned the subject had shot himself in the leg and had severed his femoral artery. Officer Lisenby immediately began to utilize his training and applied direct pressure to the victim until EMS arrived. It was brought to the Chief’s attention by several medical personnel, that if not for his actions, the subject most likely would have died.

These types of actions continue to produce a quality of work within the agency that is a benchmark for all officers to follow. His dedication to the community is appreciated by all and does not go unnoticed.
